Dr. Subodh Khullar joined the Department of Energy Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi as an Assistant Professor in July 2026. Prior to joining IIT Delhi, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Division of Fluid and Experimental Mechanics at Luleå University of Technology, Sweden, where he worked on the experimental characterization of roughness-induced losses in engineering systems. He received his Ph.D. (2022) and M.Tech. (2015) in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Roorkee, and his B.E. (2013) in Mechanical Engineering from Panjab University Chandigarh. He also served as a Project Fellow at the Hydro and Renewable Energy Department (HRED), IIT Roorkee, where he contributed to research on hydraulic turbine performance and the development of CFD guidelines for the performance prediction of Francis turbines.

His research interests lie in fluid mechanics, turbomachinery, and renewable energy systems, with a primary focus on hydraulic and wind turbines. His research integrates computational and experimental approaches to improve the efficiency, reliability, and operational flexibility of energy-conversion systems.
