Dr. Rabindra Mohanty received his B.Tech. degree in Electrical Engineering from Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology(VSSUT), Burla, Odisha, India in 2011. After his B. Tech., he worked as a Senior Engineer at Adani Power Ltd. from June 2011 to July 2012. He did his M.Tech. in Power and Energy Systems and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in 2014 and 2018 respectively.
Dr. Rabindra has worked with various research groups in industry and academics, after his Ph.D., he worked as a Senior R&D Engineer at ABB India Development Centre, Bangalore in 2018. He was a postdoctoral researcher in the division of Electric Power Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden from 2018 to 2021. From June 2021 to April 2022, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus. Then, he joined as Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT (BHU), Varanasi in May 2022, where he worked until May 2023. He is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Energy Science and Engineering, IIT Delhi.
Dr. Rabindra is the recipient of POSOCO power systems awards for his M. Tech. thesis in 2015 and for Ph.D. thesis in 2019, respectively. He is also the recipient of Young Engineer Award 2022 for his contribution to the engineering and research by the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE).
His research interests include power systems protection with renewable energy integration, time-domain protection, microgrids, cyber security in power systems, electric vehicles and energy storage systems.
